En honor y tributo a Tom Petty, quien falleciera el 02.10.17, su esposa Dana y su hija Adria Petty, decidieron lanzar un box set con grabaciones inéditas, versiones alternativas, grabaciones en vivo, covers, rarezas, entre otras cosas del recodado músico.
La colección titulada An American Treasure, y el ex ingeniero de Tom, Ryan Ulyate.

12/02/2018El vocal de Metallica en film de uno de los asesinos en serie más mediáticos de E.U.A.
El vocal de la banda estadounidense Metallica, desde siempre tuvo sus coqueteos con la industria del cine donde ha llegado a prestar su voz, su debut como actor es con un papel dentro del largometraje sobre el asesino en serie Ted Bundy.
La película titulada Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, del director y productor Joe Berlinger, es una biopic sobre Bundy que es interpretado por el actor Zac Efron. donde se narra el período conflictivo del grupo entre 2001 y 2003 cuando se grabó su octavo álbum estudio St. Anger (2003).
James fue de las primeras personas en arrestar al criminal en el año 1975.
El director se manifestó por la presencia del músico diciendo que después de haber pasado cientos de horas entre bastidores con el vocalista, y los demás integrantes de Metallica, Por ello le fue natural que trajera el mismo poder y magnetismo para este papel dramático.
